Centered around the literary festival “Ces pages d’amour,” held every February around Valentine’s Day, the Amicale’s literary section—Book1—aims to offer lovers of words, literature enthusiasts, book lovers of all levels, and even casual readers opportunities to share in the joy of reading. And to keep things interesting, Book1 varies its formats, venues, participants, topics, and themes.

Since 2019, Book1 and the Amicale have been organizing, in partnership with the Malraux Media Library and diplomatic, consular, and cultural missions based in Strasbourg, the European Romance Novel Award, which takes place over a two-year cycle: the first year is dedicated to raising awareness of and promoting the selected novels (along with a parallel online vote), and the second year to welcome the winner to Strasbourg for a ceremony and a meet-and-greet with the public.
