As part of the Europe Month celebrations in Strasbourg, the Amicale organised a presentation of the eleven novels shortlisted for the European Prize for love novels on 21 May 2026 at the Frida Kahlo Library in Schiltigheim.

This convivial moment combined readings of bilingual excerpts with multilingual musical interludes, performed in the original languages of the novels: Durch die schweren Zeiten (German), Besame mucho (Spanish), Here there and everywhere (English) and Aux Champs-Élysées (French). 

The Amicale had the honour of welcoming the Consul General of Portugal and the Ambassador of Ireland, Ms Caitríona Doyle, who kindly agreed to read the excerpts representing their respective countries.

In addition, we were delighted to welcome two students from the Pontonniers International High School, who presented a role-play reading of Loved and Missed (Amour manquées), selected to represent the United Kingdom.
