The 17th edition of the University on Youth and Development (UYD) will take place in Mollina, Spain at the Centre for Euro-Latin American Youth (CEULAJ) from 18th to 25th September. For a week, several activities will bring together around 250 people coming from all over the world with the aim of debating and learning more about the topic of “connecting identities”.

This year’s theme would allow participants to reflect on how youth organizations and youth work can accompany young people in the sensitive and meaningful processes of identity construction that ultimately define them as citizens and global citizens.

The UYD will count on the partnership of ten youth-led and youth-serving organizations and the participation of four other organizations, including local entities. The partners and the North-South Centre will organize a total of eight capacity-buildings, along with four side meetings. The activities include for example, training for implementation of local projects for integration of refugee youth in education, structural empowering training of trainers, a focus group on connecting women and challenging stereotypes.

The UYD is an activity organized by the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe (NSC), in partnership with the Spanish Government (INJUVE), the European Youth Forum (YFJ), the Spanish Council (CJE), the Latin American and Caribbean Forum (FLACJ) and other international youth organizations. The UYD will provide a space where young people and youth workers can meet and work together against exclusion and discrimination and for inclusion and diversity.
