2. The role of research in supporting human rights education

This workshop is aimed at showing the role played by universities – and by the research at large – in analysing the insufficient protection of HR. To better understand the dynamic of HR, the purpose of this meeting is to look at the relation among sovereignty, law and the existence of different identities.

3. Learn how to design your own HRE-game

In this learning session, we will dive into the world of play-based human rights education. We will play the blended-learning game "Courage" and get to know two other games. We will then exchange ideas about other HRE games, discuss challenges and experiences we have had with the game-based approach. At the end, we put together a brief tutorial “How to create your own HRE-Game” that specifies what to keep in mind for your next projects.

4. “HUMAN RIGHTS DIALOGUE”: How can we talk about human rights with neighbours, students, and relatives? Try a NEW toolkit

During this workshop the participants will learn about the methodology of the Human Rights Dialogue and will practice with the Dialogue toolkit. During the Human Rights Dialogue we exchange ideas, experiences and principles, in order to understand each other and to achieve better understanding of the role of human rights in our daily lives.

5.  HRE in Central Asia: successes, challenges and identifying further ways

This workshop is the place to share the stories of Central Asia multiplicators, to share the achievements, challenges and future perspectives and to have conversations on exploring the further ways of building intersectional HRE together with local HRE multiplicators, government, NGO and international organisations in our effort to create a HR oriented formal and non-formal education.

6. Forging culture of democracy in education with on-line courses and tools  (with presentation of LEMON courses)

This session aims at showcasing LEMON (Learning Modules Online), the Council of Europe’s Education Department online learning platform offering practical teaching and training resources for education professionals across Europe in the field of education for democratic citizenship.

7. Advocacy for HRE on the national level: building partnerships in the region

The workshop will aim at reflecting on how to advocate for HRE on national level. Issues to be discussed: monitoring the implementation of HRE/ECD in the countries, sharing best practices of advocacy, and ways to implement HRE/EDC in the formal educational system.

8. European youth card advancing democracy and youth citizenship education

9. Youth creativity and education through street art in Torino: the MurArte project

The goal of the workshop is about how cities manage to transform an illegal phenomenon into artistic heritage. This will be done starting from the MurArte experience made by the City of Torino and therefore the workshop will present the specific “Torino model”; after that we’ll share models from other cities followed by questions or discussions.

10. Education for democracy in the Republic of Moldova

This presentation will showcase a new curriculum for the “Education for Society” subject for grades V to XII which was introduced gradually since September 2018 by the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova. The new curriculum is largely based on the Council of Europe Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture and has been developed with CoE support.

12. Good practices in human rights education: global and national perspectives

The workshop seeks to: review international and national efforts to support and encourage national implementation of human rights education and training, especially for youth; Provide a space for sharing good practices and highlight collaborative efforts in the area of human rights education involving different stakeholders; Identify ideas and opportunities to give further impetus to national implementation of human rights education and training, in line with the Council of Europe Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education.
