ECRI General Policy Recommendation N°2 revised on Equality Bodies to combat racism and intolerance at national level - adopted on 13 June 1997 and revised on 7 December 2017

The independent equality bodies play an essential role in advancing equality and combating discrimination and intolerance. This General Policy Recommendation draws on best practices and contains standards to help States to further strengthen their equality bodies. It focuses on the key elements for the establishment, independence and effective functioning of equality bodies that make a real impact in the field of equality.
