Seventeen law enforcement, financial investigators and cybersecurity representatives from South-East Europe and Türkiye participated in the ISS World Europe 2025, which took place in Prague, Czechia, on 3-5 June 2025.
The event offered a variety of seminars and training sessions compiled into eight thematic tracks, covering tools, methodologies and equipment to enable law enforcement and intelligence communities to better tackle the challenges posed by the emerging challenges in cybercrime, cryptocurrencies, cyber money laundering, drug and human trafficking, artificial intelligence, darknet and other criminal activities conducted over telecommunications networks, the internet and social media.
This was an opportunity for strengthening the practical skills of criminal justice professionals in the region, as well as fostering inter-agency and cross-border cooperation on cybercrime and electronic evidence. Moreover, the participants enhanced their skills in internet investigations, investigative methodologies to profile and identify online offenders, lawful interception and the practical use of investigative tools.
The assistance was part of the ongoing efforts of the CyberSEE project partners to improve institutional responses to emerging threats, such as encrypted communication, online fraud and online child sexual exploitation.
The Council of Europe, through its Cybercrime Programme Office (C-PROC) reaffirms its commitment to supporting South-East European countries in strengthening their criminal justice response to cybercrime and electronic evidence in order to effectively address the cyber threat landscape and to ensure their skills remain aligned with the latest technological developments in the context of new forms of cybercrime.
