Criminal justice authorities in all regions of the world are confronted with increasing cases of cybercrime and other crimes involving electronic evidence. This is also true for countries of Southeast Asia, including Indonesia.

To address this challenge, the Supreme Court of Indonesia, through the Judicial Policy Strategy, Education and Training Agency partnered with the Octopus Project in organising of the Judicial Training Programme on cybercrime and electronic evidence for judges and prosecutors from Indonesia.

First introductory module of the course takes place on 29 October – 1 November 2024 in Bogor with active participation of 35 judges and prosecutors from different regions of Indonesia. The same group of judicial professionals will join, later in the year, the advanced course and soft skills training, thus completing the programme and becoming certified national judicial trainers on cybercrime and electronic evidence. The established pool of national trainers will further assist in the implementation of the training programme in Indonesia and regionally.

Through the Octopus Project, the Council of Europe will continue to support countries worldwide in strengthening of domestic legislation on cybercrime and enhancing capacities and skills based on the Convention on Cybercrime and its Additional Protocols as global standards.
