Nienke is a Senior Campaigner at Global Witness - a leading investigative and campaigning organisation dedicated to tackling the climate crisis.
In 2020, Nienke helped set up the Digital Threats to Democracy campaign at Global Witness, focused on improving online information ecosystems and holding tech companies accountable. She leads all EU policy engagement and has extensive experience in international policy, advocacy and public-interest investigations.
She has also worked on issues of anti-money laundering and anti-corruption at Global Witness (2017-2020) and Transparency International EU (2010-2015), and child protection and child rights at UNICEF UK (2015-2017).
Nienke is Dutch national based in London with her husband and two children. She has a BA in Social Science from University College Utrecht and an MSc in International Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London.
