International Conference: Trafficking in Cultural Property. A criminological perspective

The Council of Europe participated in the meeting of the RITHMS Consortium (Research, Intelligence and Technology for Heritage and Market Security) aimed at providing with an in-depth understanding of the criminal phenomenon, assessing the state of the art, but also the gaps in the common understanding of the problem, in order to develop adequate measures to improve EU policy and law enforcement practices on the protection of cultural heritage.

The Conference was held in La Coruña, Spain, on 30 April 2024. The Nicosia Convention, as the only international criminal treaty to combat this scourge, was one of the topics presented during the meeting.
