The President of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), Judge Ivana Hrdličková, provided the CAHDI experts with an overview of the role and functioning of the STL, as well as the main challenges faced by it. In her presentation, Judge Hrdličková recalled the historical background in which this Tribunal was set up, as well as its main features and competences, before turning to the cases before the STL in more detail. Furthermore, Judge Hrdličková pointed out the current challenges faced by the international criminal justice.
