Round-table meeting in Greece

On 30 October 2019, the Anti-Trafficking Division of the Council of Europe, in co-operation with the Office of the Greek National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings, organised a round-table meeting in Athens to discuss progress made in the implementation of the recommendations made in the first report of the Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) on Greece.

The meeting brought together some 40 representatives of relevant ministries, public agencies and civil society organisations. Participants discussed progress and remaining challenges in the field of prevention, identification and assistance provided to victims of human trafficking, the criminal justice response to human trafficking, and co-ordination of anti-trafficking action.

Greece is expected to report to the Committee of the Parties to the Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings on measures taken to comply with the recommendations by 9 February 2020.
