Do you like Ibrahim Maalouf, the saxophonist Bill Evans and jazz that bridges cultures? Discover Useïn Bekirov, who has collaborated with these two leading figures on the international scene.
A Ukrainian Crimean Tatar pianist and composer, Useïn Bekirov has developed a unique style blending jazz fusion, funk and ethno-jazz. His compositions combine virtuosity, contemporary rhythms and motifs drawn from Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian traditions. A musical heritage passed down from generation to generation, reinvented in a style that is free-spirited and resolutely contemporary.
With Vitalii Ivanchenko on bass and double bass and Oleksandr Murenko on drums, the trio brings together the energy of contemporary jazz and the musical heritage of Crimea.
An evening of fusion sounds, Crimean Tatar heritage and solidarity with Ukraine.
This concert is organised by the associations MICT France-Ukraine and Support Action Ukraine, with the support of the Permanent Representation of Ukraine to the Council of Europe, Crimean House — la Maison de Crimée, and the association ‘Watch Ukrainian!’, with the support of the City of Strasbourg, the Strasbourg Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Amicale du Conseil de l’Europe.
A concert, a musical gathering and a gesture of solidarity.
