Discover Traditional Tai Chi – Join Us This Autumn!

Looking for a practice that nurtures both body and mind, improves balance and flexibility, and offers a deeper understanding of movement and vitality?

The Council of Europe Tai Chi group invites you to join our weekly sessions, open to all staff.

Since its launch two years ago, the activity has attracted more than 60 colleagues, with a group of regular practitioners discovering the benefits of this time-honoured Chinese art. Under the guidance of our experienced instructor, Mrs ZENG, participants learn the 8 Pieces of Brocade and the Short Yang Forms (8 and soon 16) while exploring the principles that lie at the heart of traditional Tai Chi.

More than a series of graceful movements, Tai Chi is based on the understanding that posture, relaxation, alignment and intention work together to support the harmonious circulation of energy throughout the body. In traditional teaching, each movement has a purpose: correct structure and mindful practice help cultivate balance, vitality and overall well-being.

Classes include gentle warm-ups, breathing exercises and form practice, helping participants develop greater body awareness, reduce stress, improve coordination and find a sense of calm amidst a busy working week. Whether you are entirely new to Tai Chi or returning after a break, you will be welcomed at your own pace.

- Tuesdays, 12:30–14:00
- Vedovato Room (Palais), Lieu d'Europe, or Parc de l'Orangerie (weather permitting)
- Classes in English - 20€/session (pay-as-you-come)

Classes will resume on Tuesday 1st September 2026.

For more information or to register, please contact Lesley DALOZ ([email protected]) or Adeline VINCENT ([email protected]).

We look forward to welcoming you!

“When practised with attention and understanding, Tai Chi becomes more than exercise—it is a path towards greater harmony, balance and vitality.”
