The ‘Caribbean Dance’ Section invites you to a commemorative event marking the abolition of slavery, which it is co-organising with the Karaïb' Vibe association.
Following the UN International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade (25 March) and ahead of the French commemorations in May, KARAÏB' VIBE invites you to a commemorative event entitled “Dance and the Memory of Slavery” on 25 April.
On the programme:
1pm–3pm: Exhibitions “Dates of Abolition” and “Dance and Slavery” – documentary, introductory sessions and dance demonstrations (bèlè, biguine & mazurka, quadrille) – Planteur with music
3pm–6pm: Gwo ka dance workshop
Free entry from 1pm to 3pm
Dance workshop from 3pm to 6pm: €25 in advance – €30 on the door
