For four months, the 4th tournament organized by the Chess Club took place. The 20 registered members came from the Organization's various buildings (Palace, AGORA, Palace of Human Rights, and EDQM).

With the help of Mr. Eldaniz Babayev from the Strasbourg Chess Club, this tournament was a resounding success. The Chess Club wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the Permanent Representation of Spain for its support of this tournament. Ambassador Rosa Velázquez Álvarez graciously agreed to contribute to the funding of the trophies awarded to each participant. The Chess Club as a whole, along with the Association, extends its heartfelt thanks for this thoughtful gesture. However, as the Ambassador was unable to attend due to a very busy schedule, Mr. Cantero, Deputy to the Permanent Representative of Spain, accompanied by Mr. Iago Martin Menduina, honored us with their presence to participate in the awards ceremony.

The ceremony took place on Tuesday, May 12, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Parliamentarians' Bar. Each player received an award from Mr. Cantero, based on their final ranking according to their victories. To commemorate the occasion, a group photo was taken, followed by refreshments for all participants.

Congratulations again to Rafael Ismayilov, who emerged victorious from this tournament, followed by Vedran Lopandic, Khagani Guliyev, Steve Anza, and Yvan Scherer. But I mustn't forget the other participants who fought hard to try and secure their place.

Thanks again to the Ambassador, the Association and the various people who, by providing their help, greatly contributed to the success of this tournament.
