Distribution Support

Scheme I - Support for “marketing and advertising costs” for eligible films for distributors pre-selected by Eurimages .

This support  is intended for distributors based in Eurimages member states which do not have access to the EU MEDIA programme: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”, the Russian Federation, Georgia, Serbia and Turkey.
But Scheme I is also available for distributors whose head office is in another Eurimages member state when they distribute films produced or co-produced by one or more producers from the above-mentioned countries which do not have access to MEDIA support.  

Distributors will be deemed eligible according to their profile, experience, catalogue of European films… They must provide proof of a theatrical distribution strategy (and where possible distribution in other media), adapted to their countries situation and have co-operation agreements with local exhibitors, preferably those members of the Eurimages theatrical network.

Scheme II - Support for “measures for fostering awareness of European cinema” intended for innovative projects aimed at reinforcing the image of European cinema, developing public knowledge and increasing European films audiences; for example: VOD projects, internet information sites devoted to European cinema… or more traditional promotional projects, such as festivals, special edition reviews…

This support is intended for distributors or professional associations and other organisations working in the film and audiovisual industry who are able to justify professional competences in these domains.

How to submit an application

For Scheme I, applications for the pre-selection of distributors may only be made once a year, for the deadline corresponding to the second call for projects.  For the year 2013, this deadline is 22 April.
For Scheme II, there are 4 deadlines each year for call for projects to be taken into consideration for the subsequent meeting of the Board of Management.  For the year 2013, the first deadline is also 22 April. 

Applications must be submitted by e-mail to eurimages.distribution@coe.int, by 6pm on the deadline corresponding to each call for projects.
