EURIMAGES - European Cinema Support Fund

Distribution Support

Changes to distribution support in 2015:

Article 31 of the Regulations has been amended: distributors now have to mention Eurimages support when they distribute films (Scheme one) in the publicity material which they use to promote their companies (website, press packs, etc.).
For support awarded in the context of Scheme two, the Board of Management will now be paying particular attention to all sources of financing, not only Eurimages support, as well as the project’s feasibility. The payment of the second instalment needs to be requested using FORM II-B and the amount of support may be reduced if the actual project costs are lower by more than 10% of the budget submitted at the time of the request for support (Article 51 of the Regulations).
Article 44 has been added: applicants for Scheme two must contact their national representatives on the Eurimages Board of Management as soon as possible. If any of the national representatives concerned have not been contacted prior to the Board of Management meeting, the project will be removed from the agenda.

As Albania is now eligible for distribution support from the Creative Europe Programme it can no longer receive support from the Eurimages distribution scheme, except for Scheme one support in the cases referred to in Article 2.2 of the Regulations.

This support is intended for professionals based in Eurimages member states which do not have access to the EU MEDIA programme: “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”, the Russian Federation, Georgia, Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey; but it is also available for distributors whose head office is in another Eurimages member state when they distribute films produced or co-produced by one or more producers from the above-mentioned countries which do not have access to MEDIA support.

Distributors will be deemed eligible according to their profile, experience, catalogue of European films.  They must provide proof of a theatrical distribution strategy (and, where possible, distribution in other media), adapted to their countries situation and have co-operation agreements with local exhibitors, preferably those members of the Eurimages theatrical network.
