MOTIVATION

As the current International Director of Cojep International I would like to present my candidature for the post of Rapporteur of the Bureau of the Conference of INGOs.

I would like to begin with an observation concerning the NGO representatives, which is that there is a major lack of young people attending conference sessions.

I myself am a representative of these missing people. For me, youth is one of the main factors in innovation. This is a particularly important issue in view of the growing and striking decline of youth participation in civil society. As a result, my candidature could be a way of opening up a new connection with young people and creating a vector for dialogue.

Cojep is an NGO which has proven credentials in the sphere of anti-discrimination measures, human rights and democratic participation. In September 2013, we had the opportunity to set up the European Forum of Youth Municipal Councils in partnership with the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities. At the first session of the forum, we heard first-hand about the problems encountered by young people today, particularly the obstacles placed in the way of their active participation.

Our NGO has been taken over by a dynamic new team, which has been able to adjust very quickly. I am willing to commit myself totally to ensuring that the work of the Bureau continues and retains its cross-cutting aspects.

For information, our team has tripled its international activities at Cojep.
