The Data Protection Unit and the Children's Rights Division of the Council of Europe launched work towards a "Toolkit" to help Data Protection Authorities to raise awareness of youth to the protection of their privacy and their personal data in the digital environment. A first workshop gathered international experts and representatives of the French and the Belgium DPAs in Paris on 12 December 2018, to map out the project and define the various elements of the future tool that will be used in the framework of co-operation activities. The envisaged "Toolkit" will translate in practical terms and in adapted formats the principles enshrined in Council of Europe Convention 108+, with the help of the Guidelines to respect, protect and fulfil the rights of the child in the digital environment as well as many experiences and existing practices.
