We have the great pleasure to announce that the Committee of Convention 108 launches the call for applications to the 2022 Stefano Rodotà Award (4th edition of the competition).

The award honours the memory of Stefano Rodotà, prominent Italian law professor and politician who championed the promotion of the right to data protection.

The prize acknowledges innovative and original academic research projects or publications by young students or researchers in personal data protection.

The competition is open to students and researchers from all regions of the world participating in the work of the Committee of Convention 108.

Applicant’s projects or publications will be assessed by a judging panel, composed of the members of the Bureau of the Committee of Convention 108. The awarded original academic research projects and publications will be released on Data Protection Day (28 January 2022) and will be announced on the Council of Europe website and different social media accounts to honour the prize-winners on that celebration day.

The winners will be invited to the Plenary session of the Committee of Convention 108 (to be held from 15 to 17 June 2022). This will be a unique opportunity for the winners to present their work to a global forum of renowned international personal data protection experts and policymakers from over 55 countries.

Do not miss the opportunity to have a remarkable impact on the policymaking in data protection!
