On 11 and 12 am June 2019, the Council of Europe hosted the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to privacy for his public consultation on a Draft recommendation on the protection and use of health data.

During the 40th Edition of the annual International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners (ICDPPC) the Council of Europe organised a side-event on the global data protection Convention: Convention 108+ .
The Council of Europe and the French "Commission Nationale de l' Informatique et des Libertés" (CNIL) have organised this conference, which took place in Strasbourg on 5 June 2014. This annual event, which is reserved for accredited data protection authorities and observers, is a unique occasion for each represented authority to deal with subjects of common interest and to help advance the fundamental right to data protection.
