Culture and Cultural Heritage Division takes part in the conference “Rebound after the drama: heritage and resilience”

In the spirit of its efforts to protect the common European heritage, Culture and Cultural Heritage Division team will share its experience in this field, by giving a speech on fragility of cultural heritage at the conference “Rebound after the drama: heritage and resilience” organised by the French Blue Shield Committee, on 29th January, in Paris.

This will be an occasion to highlight the CoE’s long-lasting work in the cultural heritage sector reflected in through its associated five unique Conventions, emphasizing the recent Nicosia Convention on Offences Relating to Cultural Heritage as well as a forthcoming draft recommendation of the Committee of Ministers to member States on cultural heritage in the face of risks in day-to-day management.

From the Council of Europe’s perspective, the combination of offering standards (either hard or soft ones) that can influence cultural heritage policy-making and providing assistance to governments and other partners to implement such policy through a variety of approaches, is crucial for creating true impact and real change.
