A second Emerald Network Biogeographical Seminar for Belarus, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine took place in Minsk (Belarus) on 18 and 19 June 2019, bringing together national delegations, NGOs, independent scientific experts as well as representatives of the European Environment Agency and of the Council of Europe.
This seminar focused on species (except birds) and habitats listed respectively in Resolution No. 6 (1998) and No. 4 (1996) of the Bern Convention. The aim of the meeting was to assess the sufficiency of the proposed Emerald Network sites in the above mentioned countries for ensuring the long-term survival of the species and habitats of European importance in the Alpine, Boreal, Continental, Pannonian and Steppic biogeographical regions.
