The Council of Europe Anti-Trafficking Convention provides for a monitoring mechanism to assess the implementation of its provisions by State Parties, made up of two bodies: the Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) and the Committee of the Parties.

In addition to the work carried out by GRETA and the Committee of the Parties, the activities of other Council of Europe bodies are relevant to combating trafficking in human beings.
