The EU/CoE action on Freedom of Expression and Freedom of the media in Kosovo* (JUFREX2) and Project against Economic Crime in Kosovo* (PECK III) organized a two-day training webinar on dealing with misinformation and using publicly available sources while handling whistleblowers reports.
25 participants from different audiences which included media, civil society and law enforcement institutions benefited from a lively discussion on whistleblower protection in the age of digital information during the two days webinar.
Topics discussed addressed issues such as: Information landscape and impact of misinformation; Categories of misinformation; Double edged sword of the Information Age: how to avoid the pitfalls (misinformation) and benefit from the advantages (coordinated and ethical information sharing).
Under an excellent combination of an international and a local consultant, the participants were able to deliberate on comparative case studies and evolving standards in the field. Prominent local whistleblower cases were also addressed.
The event helped participants to expand knowledge on the international and EU/CoE standards and practices related to the topic. PECK III and JUFREX Project will deliver
