Media Advisory: The State Prosecutor’s Office and the State Audit Institution of Montenegro sign a Protocol on Co-operation

The State Prosecutor’s Office and the State Audit Institution of Montenegro will sign a Protocol on Cooperation in Economic Crime Cases on 5 December 2018 at Hotel Centre Ville in Podgorica.

The Protocol will be signed by Mr Ivica Stankovic Supreme State Prosecutor, on behalf of the State Prosecutor’s Office, and Mr Milan Dabovic, President of the Senate, on behalf of the State Audit Institution.

Signing of the Protocol aims at strengthening and facilitating cooperation between the two institutions on cases involving abuse of state resources investigated both by the State Audit Institution in its financial oversight capacity and the General Prosecutor’s Office in its criminal prosecution capacity. The Council of Europe will continue providing expert support to the two institutions as they implement the Protocol through the Horizontal Facility Action against economic crime in Montenegro.

The event is fully open to media. The opening is scheduled for 12:00 on 5 December 2018 at Hotel Centre Ville, Podgorica.

The signing of the Protocol is organised within the “Action against economic crime in Montenegro” which is being implemented in Montenegro as a part of the programme “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey” funded by the European Union and co-funded and implemented by the Council of Europe.
