The Council of Europe Education Department organizes a conference to present the results of the project "Fostering a democratic school culture in Montenegro", implemented in the period from 2016 to 2018 in partnership with the Ministry of Education. The conference will take place on 13 December 2018 at Hotel Hilton, Podgorica.
The project has been implemented through a network of 26 pilot schools with the aim to improve the quality of education in Montenegro through the promotion of democratic culture in a formal education system, based on the Council of Europe's relevant framework for democratic culture competences. Pupils have been given the opportunity to master the knowledge necessary for participation in the culture of democracy and peaceful life with others in culturally diverse democratic societies.
Opening remarks will be given by Tamara Milic, Head of Unit for preschool and Inclusive Education, Ministry of Education, Romain Boitard, Task Manager, Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and Vesna Atanasova, Programme Manager, Division of Cooperation and Capacity Building, Education Department, Council of Europe.
The event is fully open to media. The opening is scheduled for 10:00 on 13 December at Hotel Hilton (Blvd. Svetog Petra Cetinjskoga 2, Podgorica);
The conference is held under the programme Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey funded by the European Union and co-funded and implemented by the Council of Europe.
