The Second phase of the EU-COE Action “Enhancing human rights protection for detained and sentenced persons in Montenegro” continues its expert support through capacity building of police officers.
A 4- day advanced training, starting on 8 May aims at further enhance the Montenegrin police forces’ efforts in building the capacities of their officers in preventing ill-treatment of persons deprived from liberty. This team of national trainers is formed to provide cascade trainings to police officers throughout Montenegro and contribute to the process of bringing the police forces of Montenegro closer to European standards, primarily Council of Europe’s CPT standards.
The Action, that is co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe, started on 1 October 2016 and will finish in January 2019, with overall budget of 750.000 €.
