“#SinTags” gifs and video clip against discrimination
Description: The #SinTags campaign, implemented between 2014 and 2016 by the Consejo Nacional para Prevenir la Discriminación in Mexico, aimed at tackling all forms of hate speech. Gifs were one of their campaign tools for raising awareness against hate speech and promoting diversity and interculturality, and challenging the social norms when it comes to sexual orientation and gender violence. Furthermore, the campaign also produced a video clip which was used as a tool to showcase data on discrimination in Mexico, as well as raise awareness about how “behind every Facebook account there is a real person”; therefore, hate speech online is a violation of human rights online. The gifs are in Spanish. The video includes English subtitles.
Country: Mexico.
