Croatia has improved its compliance with the FATF´s recommendation on non-profit organisations, says Council of Europe MONEYVAL Committee

Croatia has taken steps to enhance its anti-money laundering and terrorist financing measures but still needs to tackle some shortcomings, concludes a follow-up report from MONEYVAL, the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism.

MONEYVAL finds that Croatia has made progress in addressing to large extent the technical compliance deficiencies impacting the application of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards on non-profit organisations (Recommendation 8).

Overall, out of the 40 recommendations, Croatia is currently rated as:

       •    Compliant on seven recommendations;
       •    Largely Compliant on twenty-seven recommendations;
       •    Partially Compliant on three recommendations.

None of the FATF recommendations are assessed as non-compliant.

In line with its rules of procedures and taking into account the scheduled onsite visit for Croatia’s 6th round mutual evaluation in spring 2030, MONEYVAL has decided that Croatia will no longer be subject to the fifth-round follow-up process.
