The Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) conducted a week-long joint training for assessors. The training was hosted by the Economic-Financial Police School of the Guardia di Finanza in Ostia, Italy.
From 8 to 12 June 2026, the training brought together 45 experts, including 12 experts from MONEYVAL jurisdictions and 3 members of the MONEYVAL Secretariat. The focus of the training was on the current round of mutual evaluation procedures, the revised FATF Standards, and the assessment of countries in terms of technical compliance as well as effectiveness.
Successful completion of the assessor training course is required for all experts who wish to serve as evaluators in MONEYVAL and FATF assessments.
