And the winners of the Eurimages Co-production Development Awards are…

26-03-2018 - Last Thursday, the Eurimages Co-production Development Award for documentaries(€15,000) presented at the CPH:FORUM in Copenhagen went to the project Journey to Utopia to be directed by Erlend Eirik Mo and produced by Lise lense-Møller (Magic Hour Films, DK). The jury, consisting of Tobias Pausinger, Eurimages Board Member, Marit Van Den Elshout, Head of IFFR Pro, and Vibeke Vogel, managing director and founder of Bullitt film, decided to grant this prize to “a brutally honest project which, by telling an intimate story, touches upon big universal matters we are all occupied with”. See the press release. The next Eurimages Co-production Development Award will be awarded in the framework of the TPS Co-Production Platform which will take place during the Transilvania International Film Festival on 1 and 2 June 2018 in Cluj (Romania).

09-03-2018 - The very first Eurimages Co-production Development Award presented in the framework of Cartoon Movie went to the project entitled Kara which will be directed by Sinem Sakaoglu and co-produced by Visual Distractions (Germany) and Beast Animation (Belgium). The jury composed of Karin Schockweiler (representative of  Luxembourg to the Eurimages Board of Management), Felix Vanginderhuysen (JEF - Belgium) and Sara Wikler (STUDIOCANAL - France) wanted to encourage this ambitious art house-project done by a young female talent and supported by experienced and inspired producers. See the press release. The next Eurimages Co-production Development Award will be awarded in the framework of the CPH:FORUM on 21-22 March 2018 in Copenhagen (Denmark).

19-02-2018 - Last night, during the Eurimages cocktail held in co-operation with Berlinale Co-Production Market, the Eurimages Co-production Development Award went to the project The War Has Ended by Hagar Ben Asher, to be co-produced by the companies Madants (PL), Match Factory (DE) and Transfax (IL). The jury considered that this project which has a strong structure treated a difficult story in a sophisticated manner. They were particularly impressed by the artistic side of the puppets and their use in the drama and wanted to support this talented director. The next Eurimages Co-production Development Award will be presented at Cartoon Movie on 07-09 March 2018 in Bordeaux (France).

01/02/2018 - The very first Eurimages Co-production Development Award of 2018 was awarded last night at the close of the 35th Cinemart edition, Rotterdam’s International Film Festival’s co-production market, to the project entitled Mitra by Kaweh Modiri which will be produced by the company BALDR Film (NL). The jury composed of Arben Zharku, Dorien van de Pas (for Eurimages) and Rachel Ellis was impressed by the bravery of the filmmaker, who presented a very personal and delicate story on retribution and guilt.  See the press release on the festival’s website. The next Eurimages Co-production Development Award will be awarded in the framework of the Berlinale Co-production Market on 18 February 2018.
