AND THE WINNER IS...

The Council of Europe’s Eurimages Fund and Sarajevo Film Festival are pleased to reveal the name of the winner of the fifth edition of the prestigious Audentia Award for Best Female Director: Natalija Yefimkina for her feature length documentary Garage People. It is the first time a documentary has won this award since its inception by Eurimages in 2016. Garage People previously picked up the Heiner Carow Prize when it debuted at the Berlinale in February.

The jury which selected this film included: Aida Begić, film director (BiH), Marco Müller, artistic director of the international film festival ‘Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon’ (Italy/China), and Iris Zappe-Heller, deputy director and head of department of Gender Equality at the Austrian Film Institute and Austrian representative of the Eurimages Board of Management.

The festival with which Eurimages will collaborate in 2021 for the Audentia Award will be announced later this year pursuant to the outcome of the ongoing call for festivals.
