The Committee of Ministers (1295^th meeting of 27 September 2017) agreed to the request of the Republic of Argentina to be invited to accede to the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data.

The Republic of Argentina is the eighth non-member state of the Council of Europe invited to accede, after Uruguay (already Party), Morocco, Mauritius (already Party), Senegal (already Party), Tunisia (51st Party as of 1 November), Cabo Verde and Burkina Faso.
