Tunisia, 30th country to sign Convention 108+

Today, 24 May 2019, M. Mohamed Ridha BEN MOSBAH, Ambassador of the Tunisian Republic in Brussels, signed the Protocol amending the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Processing of Personal Data in presence of the Deputy Secretary General Ms Gabriela Battaini-Dragoni.

Tunisia has been Party to Convention 108 since 1 November 2017.

A legislative reform process is on-going, which aims at enabling the alignment of the Tunisian law with the last developments with regard of the right to data protection. The Data Protection Unit welcomes its co-operation on the topic with its Tunisian counterparts, notably in respect of the implementation of the Project for supporting independent instances in Tunisia (PAII-T), in partnership with the l’Instance nationale de protection des données personnelles (INPDP).
