On 29 July 2021, the Data Protection Unit of the Council of Europe took part in a workshop held in the framework of EuroDIG 2021, a yearly event dedicated to Pan-European dialogue on Internet governance on the consequences of AI for data protection.

The workshop examined the challenges posed by AI to the industry and governments in relation to data protection and provided insights into some of the possible solutions. Discussions focused on the ongoing regulatory developments in the field of AI and data protection, and on how the industry can use AI in a privacy-friendly way.
