Baku Cyberweek is being held from 2nd to 6th of March 2020 with an entire day being dedicated to the protection of privacy and personal data. With the participation of the Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, privacy professionals and experts are discussing issues that are relevant for Azerbaijan in the field of the protection of privacy and personal data. The Data Protection Unit is taking part in the event and delivering a speech on the modernised Convention 108 and its relevance in the reform process of the national legislation currently being undertaken by the government. An imminent signature by Azerbaijan of the Protocol (CETS 223) amending Convention 108 has also been underlined.
