By integrating this crucial dimension of personal data protection, the kit aims to ensure that the rights and dignity of victims of human trafficking are fully respected throughout the process of identification and support. This approach also enhances victims' trust in support mechanisms.

The Human Trafficking Victim Identification Kit in Lebanon was launched on March 7, 2024, in Tunis, in the presence of Mr. Henry Khoury, the Minister of Justice in Lebanon, Judge Henry Khoury, and Mrs. Pilar Morales, Coordinator of the Neighborhood Policy with the Southern Mediterranean and Executive Director of the North-South Center of the Council of Europe, with the participation of Mr. Kamal Eddine Ben Hassan, Chief of Staff of the Tunisian Ministry of Justice (appointed by the Minister of Justice). Official delegations from Morocco, Malta, and Portugal were also present at this event organised as part of the joint initiative between the European Union and the Council of Europe "South Programme V."
