Following the BiHSEJ’s proposal, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina during its session held in May 2025 nominated the Basic Court in Modriča and the Municipal Courts in Žepče and Mostar to take part in the Action’s court coaching programme.
With the addition of Modriča, Žepče and Mostar courts, the Action’s network of pilot courts now includes 8 first-instance courts across Bosnia and Herzegovina. The newly engaged courts have expressed enthusiasm for collaboration, and constructive cooperation is expected throughout the coaching cycle.
The initial assessment visits to the recently nominated courts are taking place from 22 to 24 October 2025. These visits will allow to map the existing court practices and to held discussions with the court management, judges and non-judge staff with the aim to develop tailored recommendations to improve the efficiency and quality of justice.
This activity was organised by CEPEJ action “HFIII: HF 4 - Strengthening the Efficiency and Quality of Justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiHSEJ)”, which is part of the joint programme entitled "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye III", co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
