Call for participation - Making justice accessible across Europe and strengthening the trust of citizens in the judicial system

Every year on 25 October, on the European Day of Justice, events for European citizens, students and justice professionals are organised across Europe.

The CEPEJ welcomes the commitment of justice professionals, public authorities, international bodies and educational institutions to bring justice closer to citizens, inform them about their rights and promote the work of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, for example through trial simulations, information sessions, training and seminars.

In 2022, new awareness-raising initiatives dedicated to the European Day of Justice were launched in 13 European countries, including launching a virtual game about the role of lay judges, giving guest lectures at primary and secondary schools by judges and legal officials, publication of the online animated series regarding court procedures according to the user-centric approach.

The CEPEJ invites judicial institutions, associations and public services to inform it of events which will be organised in their country within the framework of the celebration of the 2023 edition of the European Day of Justice, in order to be able to publish them on its website and to raise awareness of them among European citizens, students and professionals of justice  (link to the form ). To this end, the CEPEJ, with the support of the European Commission, has made posters and images, that can be personalised in 23 languages, available on its website, for use on social networks.
