Piloting the future Case Management Information System at the Basic Court of Ferizaj (Kosovo*)
On 7 February 2018, a visit was organized to witness the testing of the future Case Management Information System (CMIS), by its users (court staff) at the Basic Court of Ferizaj. In parallel to its direct work with courts in a court coaching programme which includes Ferizaj, the KoSEJ Action is supporting the development of the CMIS to ensure that its successful implementation leads to the improvement of the collection and the management of judicial statistics. This activity took place in light of the "Checklist for users of the information system" contained in the CEPEJ Cyberjustice guidelines. These recommend to use pilot sites to test such systems and gather feedback from users to ensure success in improving the efficiency and quality of justice. Concrete questions were raised to improve the CMIS, including the use of the electronic signature by judges. The KoSEJ Action will pursue its work by seeking possible solutions in this area with the CEPEJ expertise.
