At the invitation of the Spanish Ministry of Justice, the CEPEJ presented its Guidelines on the use of artificial intelligence for courts to the Spanish judiciary.
The guidelines provide a framework for implementing generative AI in the administration of justice, focusing on ensuring legal certainty, judicial independence, effective human oversight, transparency and traceability.
Félix Bolaños, Spanish Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with Parliament, and Francesco Depasquale, President of CEPEJ, emphasised the importance of making the best use of technology in line with the rule of law and human rights to meet citizens' needs.
Aitor Cubo, Director General for the Digital Transformation of the Justice Administration of the Spanish Ministry of Justice, and Ivan Crnčec, Vice-President of the CEPEJ and Secretary of State for Justice, Digital Transformation and Public Administration in Croatia, led the discussion on judicial reforms, with contributions from CEPEJ experts.
