Family mediation at the heart of discussions during a workshop organized by the CEPEJ in Rabat

The European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ), in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice of Morocco, organized a workshop on family mediation: its practices and challenge, on October 16, 2025, in Rabat.

This event brought together Belgian and French mediators alongside Moroccan professionals, including judges, lawyers, notaries, adouls, judicial officers, and social workers, with the aim of promoting a culture of dialogue and amicable resolution of family disputes. Representatives from the Ministry of Justice, the High Council of the Judiciary, and the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office were also in attendance.

The main objective of the workshop was to raise awareness among judicial and social actors about family mediation by providing them with practical tools for effective implementation in the field. Discussions focused on best practices, challenges related to the application of mediation, funding mechanisms, and the need for mediator training.

This activity was held under the MA-JUST programme: "Towards a More Protective, Accessible and Efficient Justice in Morocco", co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the the Council of Europe.
