The CEPEJ organised between 27 and 28 September 2023 a data collection support visit in Chisinau (the Republic of Moldova) within the regular biennial CEPEJ evaluation and the Joint Programme "Support for a better evaluation of the result of judicial reform efforts in the Eastern Partnership” ("Justice Dashboard EaP"). This visit aimed at improving data collection and quality of data for both the regular Evaluation cycles and the third cycle of data collection organised in the framework of the "Justice Dashboard EaP".
The meetings carried out during the visit enabled technical level discussions with representatives of the Ministry of Justice, judicial authorities (courts, Superior Council of Magistracy, Agency for Courts Administration) and justice sector organisations (judicial experts, the Bar, notaries and other legal professions) involved in data collection and quality check, the correspondent of the CEPEJ and the CEPEJ member. These meetings contribute to fostering a uniform understanding of the questionnaire in particular in respect of the organisation of the judiciary, legal aid, case-flow management in courts and in prosecution services, career of judges and prosecutors, justice sector professions and thus improving the quality of the respective data. In addition to the above, two courts’ visits have been organised at the first instance court in Chisinau and Chisinau Court of Appeal, to further the understanding of the organisation of court’s services and their case management systems.
