With the support of two CEPEJ international experts, fourteen representatives from the judiciary of Kosovo (Kosovo Judicial Council, Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, members of the ICT-CMIS Project, as well as the Court Presidents of the seven Basic Courts) participated in a Cyberjustice study visit in Tallinn, Estonia (27-28 June 2017) to discuss the development of a new case management information system (CMIS) for Kosovo and benefit from the successful experience of Estonia in this respect. For this purpose, Estonian counterparts from the Centre of Registers and Information Systems, the Ministry of Justice, as well as the President of the Tallinn Circuit Court, discussed examples of good practices which enabled the successful development and implementation of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the judiciary. This activity contributes, more globally, to understanding how to ensure a successful change towards Cyberjustice in Kosovo—a change that is considered in the CEPEJ Cyberjustice Guidelines as a prerequisite to improving the efficiency and quality of justice systems.
