On 24-25 October 2024, a training session focused on the “Role of the Court Chancellor in Improving Court Administration Performance Indicators and Expanding Access to Justice” was held in Durrës, jointly organised by the CEPEJ and the Albanian School of Magistrates.
By focusing on strategic planning, human resource management, and leadership within court administration, the event aimed to provide practical tools to Court Chancellors in order to improve the effectiveness and the quality of judicial services in Albania.
The first day's sessions focused on access to court, court performance standards, and best practices in organising and coordinating various court services. The second day explored the recommendations from the Report prepared by the CEPEJ on the Categorisation of the role of Court Presidents, Chancellors, and Legal Assistants in Albania. Participants were also invited to take part in practical exercises relating to the implementation of performance monitoring frameworks and strategic plans aimed at improving court efficiency and widening access to justice.
The activity is organised by the action Strengthening the Quality and Efficiency of Justice in Albania (SEJ IV) in the framework of the European Union/Council of Europe joint programme Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye (Horizontal Facility III), co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
