On 17 and 18 October 2024, the CEPEJ Working Group on Cyberjustice and Artificial Intelligence (AI) (CEPEJ-GT-CYBERJUST), met to take stock of the progress on implementing the CEPEJ’s biennial Activity Programme concerning it. The Working Group has thus made progress with its work on a “Tech” Glossary, the “Practical guide on the use and development of video conferencing in judicial proceedings” and the “Draft Guidelines for the online publication of court decisions and access to legal knowledge”, with the aim to presenting them at the December CEPEJ Plenary meeting. The group’s discussion on AI in the judicial environment was followed by a practical demonstration of two automatic recording and transcription tools from Slovenia and Spain, aiming at supporting the judge in its work. The AI systems will be added to the Resource Centre on Cyberjustice and AI that gives a detailed overview of the implementation of judicial AI systems in Europe and beyond.
