CCJE Opinion No. 24 (2021) now available in Croatian

Judge Duro Sessa (Croatia), member of the CCJE Bureau and President of the European Association of Judges (EAJ), initiated the publication in Croatian of the CCJE Opinion No. 24 (2021) on the evolution of the Councils for the Judiciary and their role in independent and impartial judicial systems.

The Opinion No. 24 (2021) was jointly published by the Croatian Association of Judges and the Judicial Academy in a form of a separate booklet and is being distributed to a wide range of legal professionals in Croatia. Based on best European practices and highlighting the competence, tasks, organisation and composition, as well as resources at the disposal of the Councils for the Judiciary, their legitimacy and accountability and other issues pertinent to their mandate and operations, the Opinion provides an important guidance in this area.

The Croatian Association of Judges is a member of the European Association of Judges and it has been active and instrumental in advancing the CCJE norms and standards in Croatia.
