Back Publication of the CCJE Collection of Opinions

On the occasion of the publication of the Collection of Opinions of the Consultative Council of European Judges (CCJE), Nina Betetto, President of the CCJE and Judge of the Slovenian Supreme Court, highlights the role of this consultative body of the Council of Europe, and outlines the standards it has developed since its creation in 2000.

The CCJE, as a consultative body composed exclusively of serving judges, plays an important role in fostering the independence impartiality, and competence of judges through the elaboration of standards and guidance.

The opinions adopted by the CCJE contain innovative proposals for improving the status and career of judges and concerning the effective exercise of the judicial profession.
