Back Group of Experts on Protected Areas and Ecological Networks and Ad-hoc Working Group on Reporting

The Group of Experts on Protected Areas and Ecological Networks held its 13th meeting back-to-back with the 1st meeting of the Ad-hoc Working Group on Reporting on 15 June online.

The Group of Experts on Protected Areas and Ecological Networks examined consolidated guidelines describing the Emerald Network dataflow and took stock of the launch of the Emerald Network Barometer and discussed areas of improvement. 

The Group also discussed the Emerald Network data mobilisation in the Western Balkans, took note of the outcomes of the Biogeographical evaluation of the list of sites proposed by Georgia and of the preparation of the evaluations for Iceland and Liechtenstein.

The Ad-hoc Working Group on Reporting met for the first time and discussed the objectives, scope and format of the reporting under Resolution No. 8 (2012) for the period 2019 - 2024. The Working Group also took stock of the preparation of reference lists of species and habitats to be considered within the reporting and of the launch of the national summary dashboards of the first reporting on the conservation status of species and habitats for the period 2013 – 2018.
